Matching English Cocker Spaniel.

This is probably the first review I have ever written about a product I bought online but I thought it would really help a lot of people and reduce the stress associated with flying. dog first. After much deliberation, worry, uncertainty and searching every pet carrier I could find, I finally settled on the XL Sturdibag and am very glad I did. We live in Italy but I'm from New Jersey so I traveled from Milan Malpensa Airport to Newark Airport for the holidays with my English Cocker Spaniel. My dog is probably the maximum size that can travel comfortably in this bag and probably the maximum size that can fly in the cabin. He is approximately 22 inches long (chest to buttocks), 15 inches high (shoulder to floor), 6 inches wide (shoulder to shoulder) and weighs 11.3 kg. Why are we so unsure if he could fly with us in a cabin his size? The dog must stand in the pocket and be able to turn freely. The reason we chose the XL bag is because it is 16 inches tall. According to the dimensions allowed by the airlines for the transport of pets in the cabin, this bag is technically oversized. That's why we were so nervous. However, since the bag is flexible enough to come down to 12 inches, the bag was able to fit under the seat comfortably. Maybe I was just lucky this time, because at the airport nobody checked how the dog fits in. pocket, or if the pocket was even too big to fit in. I've received more compliments on the bag than anything else. We boarded the plane with no problems. It fitted perfectly under the seat and during the flight I even unzipped the front zip so it could be unzipped for every 9 more hours of flight. The backpack should only be under the seat for take-off and landing. Even during the flight I even took it out and put it on my knees for a moment, just enough to stretch my legs. I switched to economy plus seat but only because the bag is a bit long. I don't think it's absolutely necessary to upgrade to Economy Plus, but I just did it because it was my first time flying with a dog and I wasn't sure, and because my plane wasn't full, they have the seat next to you blocked me since i had a dog with me. The only downside I would say about this bag is that it becomes very heavy and difficult to carry a dog in. But I can't fault the bag, it's more because I put an 11kg dog in it. I really have to recommend this bag to anyone in the same situation as me. If you are unsure which bag to buy because you have a large or small dog, this is definitely your answer.
