I installed 2 lightbulbs in our basement to replace the original lightbulbs that were weak and outdated using existing wiring. I am self-taught and the installation process seemed simple and straightforward to me. BOX The kit includes a lamp (the white square you see on the ceiling), a metal case (where you connect the wires from the lamp to the wires). from your power source, so in this case my house) **light and box are pre-wired but you can separate them for easier installation**, cut-out template (so you can create new holes in the ceiling or repair existing holes to ensure exact size and correct form) and installation instructions. I used a cut-out template to ensure the existing ceiling holes (from the original fixings) were already the correct shape and size, so I left them as is and proceeded with the wiring preparation (cutting and trimming the End up). I separated the body of the case from the bracket, tapped on one of the side access holes, and began carefully threading each of the ceiling wires through the access hole and connecting them to the appropriate wire in the case using the included plug-in wire connector * * in none the box for the wires from the previous ceiling lights in the basement was a ground wire so I just left it that way**. After installing the housing and setting the light level to the desired level (4000K), I reconnected the light, pushed it through the hole in the ceiling, held the mounting springs in place until it went through, loosened the springs and everything was secure.
