Review on MDR-W08L Vertical In-Ear Headphones by Sony by Lance Levatte

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good only if you don't move your head

I've been using Sony MDR-A35 sports headphones for many years. They were great because they fit comfortably in my ears and sounded great. They also didn't fall off my head, were fairly sweat resistant, and folded easily into my duffel bag. Unfortunately one ear lost sound one day and I had to replace it. I was very upset when I found out that this model was no longer in production. It was a really good product even though each pair only lasted about 5 years. Now I've learned that nobody makes good foldable in-ear headphones. I don't like wearing headphones when I'm doing sports, and all other styles are annoying. First, they're very difficult to handle when they're not in your ears. I like to just drape the headphones around my shoulders like a choker when I'm not using them. The headphones are also not so comfortable when you sweat. Most reviewers hated the Sony MDR-AS35 headphones which seemed to replace my model (what a difference in S), after reading other reviews I decided to give them a try hoping they would match my old Sony -Would be similar to headphones but without the crease. Part. Well, these headphones are nothing like that. Actually they are not very good. The biggest problem I find with them is that they are too fragile. They don't stay aligned on my head. Lean forward or move to the side and the headphone strap will spring forward and then the speaker in your ear will start moving and the sound quality will be terrible. If you have to use them when you're moving, they're just terrible. Even when I'm on the elliptical, they don't always stay in the right position. Wiping the sweat off my forehead blows my mind half the time. Placed in just the right spot, the sound quality is decent, but nowhere near as good as the older MDR-A35s. So I only recommend them if you are going to use them and be very quiet.
