This is fantastic - wanted to buy something for extra protection as I'm worried about bugs which thank goodness I don't have but I'm locked in and booting up now! I take every precaution including masking off all baseboards as beds are an investment - Tuft and Needle recommended them. I was skeptical at first because some of the other reviews said they weren't that strong - yes they are! The material is a very dense, stretchy spandex that resembles cotton, is thick and durable, and the inner layer is a flexible polyester blend. I was also concerned if they are poisonous? What about chemical smells? When I first opened the box I thought the packaging smelled like plastic so I just left it open in the Revain box until I could clean myself. To my surprise it didn't smell at all after a week when I took it. Plastic cover - just fresh vibes of pure cotton - so I suggest taking it with you and airing through a bathroom rod if needed - I've washed one and air dried - fresh as a daisy - foam mattresses aren't easy to manage but the covers are held up well There was more than enough material. I also put white tape on the zipper for extra protection. I ordered a mattress rather than a box spring as others thought it was more durable - I also put two single futon beds in a double pad - no problem - for the price I think I can book extras and double wrapping because I... am a girl scout in that way. Love!
