This carafe is about half the price of the Hario version. I crashed my Hario and decided to try something cheaper. I would say that this carafe is a bit thicker than the Hario which is a plus. There are two small problems. The top of the decanter is uneven so the Hario dripper will not sit perfectly level. Theoretically, this could lead to extraction problems, but I didn't notice that. Another problem is the lid. It's a much snugger fit than what I'm used to from the Hario. For something that has a certain level of delicacy, it's a bit about using a decent amount of force to pry the lid open. Even with those two flaws, neither is outstanding. That's half the price of the Hario option. It's not perfect, but I think it's okay for the price. It still helps to make delicious coffee.
