I like the belt and the color. What I did not anticipate (and should not have anticipated) is that this belt cannot be worn both ways (left and right, with the buckle reversed). The bar is actually pretty finicky, before I could get comfortable with it I took a deep breath to suck in my stomach and make room for me to release it. The lever works best when it's pointing down, as the strap is designed to relax. It's harder to use and just looks silly if you put the strap on with the latch facing up. That's it. and then the 4 star part of my rating which probably should be 3 but doesn't matter if it's documented. First of all, it's just me, but I've really started to reduce plastic in my life and packaging. this thing is just insane. While I understand they are trying to give the impression of a "good product" and protect the belt, plastic is almost EVERYTHING. The whole belt and every part of it is somehow covered with it. And yet none of this could prevent it from getting to me without a buckle mark on my skin. By the way the belt is rolled in the separate box it comes in, the leather is pressed against the metal buckle forming a line on the belt where it stays that way. I bought two belts from the same company. , the other belt was a simpler design, with a piece of metal under the buckle that could be inserted into the belt's slots. It had no markings and actually seems more impressive. The only thing both belts had in common was that they were both dry. Leather products need to be cared for and kept at a certain level of humidity. When a grain looks so strong and about to crack, it should be obvious that it needs some maintenance. I found they were both pretty clean from the factory, so I just gave them a generous dose of Lexol leather conditioner. It seemed to bring some life to the finish, and I felt better tugging on the leather (while wearing it) than just pulling it out of the box.
