This is a new model of another mini saucepan I have. The pot is actually bigger than it looks; I have filled it with rice and other foods and sometimes I have a hard time eating everything. Also, make sure the pan isn't filled to the brim, leaving about a half inch or so (there should be a line inside). It's perfect for me to reheat leftovers for lunch or dinner. I would ask my husband to turn on the pot for me while I drive home and when I get home and freshen up, dinner will be ready! It is used to heat food, not to cook it. The only thing is that the inner lid (the one above the metal pot) tends to lift while the older model holds up much better. It doesn't matter too much what spills the food and what doesn't, but be careful when trying to remove the food as hot steam may escape or hot steamed water may escape. I love it so much I bought it for my mom.
