Review on Stone Stoneware Reactive Glaze Dinnerware by Eric Nelso

The dark color makes the food stand out!

For some reason I've always used white plates. I thought these darker plates would be great for a Halloween party or something. I was so surprised to learn that the dark color actually makes all foods stand out and looks a lot brighter and more appetizing! These are my new favorite plates! About the set: - The texture is rough, not smooth, a bit strange if you are used to a smooth texture when cutting with a knife - Rustic feel, but the color is modern - The bowls are not shiny like plates and cups, they are matte , which is a bit strange as the set is not fully coordinated - everything is dishwasher safe and being ceramic it can presumably be used at lower temperatures in the oven (haven't tried it yet) Overall I'm very happy with the set. For comparison, I looked at a series of boxes and barrels that looked the same and cost over $20 a plate. The price of this dinnerware set is biting.

Pros
  • NO DISH IS THE SAME - Each Tom dish has a jagged, wavy edge that adds character to the dish. The reactive glaze applied during firing gives each piece of ceramic a unique appearance. Menu options mean that no two dishes are the same.
Cons
  • High Price
