Dark Blue Dial With Purple Tint

Update (Oct 2018): Last battery life was 2.1 years. Update (December 2016): One of the spring bars broke and I replaced it with a 16mm x 1.8mm bar (I'm guessing the original might be 1.5mm thick because the new one has less freedom of movement.) Update (September 2016) : Battery life last 2.4 years Update (May 2014): Battery life 2.5 years Dial and bezel not light blue; They're more of a dark blue with a purple tint - darker than the blue on boxes of Barilla pasta. I think that's probably the only difference between this model and the 4861-4866 models. These watches are wider than the 91xx models. During the day, the hands are easy to read on a dark dial, especially when the luminescent markers are exposed to light. The glow lasts for several hours; but definitely not all night. I think a white dial would have looked better, but that makes the watch difficult to read at a glance. I can't turn the bezel with thick gloves. The curves at the ends of the body are not anatomical - they suggest a very small wrist radius. I've removed five of the six possible links, but the match is still not quite right. (I'm 5'9" and 145 pounds.) After using my watch for about 10 days, I found it gained about 5 seconds, which I think is a lot for a quartz watch. The good thing about this line is that the watch isn't as huge or very heavy as current men's models. Also, I haven't had any reactions to stainless steel, I've had a skin reaction to the "base metal" used in some Timex cases . 2011): I love this watch and added a star to my original review. The glowing spots actually last all night - until your eyes adjust to the darkness. I have to look closely to read the clock. while at the cinema. The watch is easy to read when snorkeling during the day, as long as you look at it normally (straight, not too low). The accuracy is the same as the previous measurement and is about a minute over the last four months. I reset the time less than once every two months (I have to adjust the date there). It doesn't bother me that the seconds hand doesn't line up perfectly with the seconds markers in several areas of the dial. I found a few scratches on the glass. Update (May 2014): Something has caught on the crown and is difficult to unscrew.

Pros
  • Stainless Steel Case; blue dial; Date function
Cons
  • Not everything fits
