Everything about this lamp is just right. If a close friend asked for recommendations, I would advise them to buy this particular model. Well if you are like me then you would like to see a list of pros and cons. So let's do it! PROS: Color accuracy (CRI) is as good as it gets - excellent. I bought an 18" FotodioX C-700RSV FlapJack LED Bi-Color Edge Light hoping I could use it as a fill. Falcon Eyes but I just couldn't use FotodioX, the output at 3200K had an unusable bright Magenta tint. I sold FotodioX and just used a large piece of white cardstock for the stuffing. Works like a charm - Solid build quality. This is an unbranded flashlight made in China (I'm assuming) so I have no idea how the quality will be. Unless B&H Photo stocks them I'm skeptical by default... it didn't look cheap in any way. It's just 'good' and more than enough for my needs. Super soft light. The softness of this light is ridiculous. It's SO soft. Bring it close to an object and it gives an incredibly soft light. -Customer support. Long story short I had a problem with the light - it settled on my 7.4- V-NPF Batteries don't turn on (what with my 18" FotodioX flashlights). I wrote an objectively negative review in hopes of attracting attention. I have made. At first I thought the light was broken until I was told by their support team (Lisa) that the light only works on the less common and more expensive 7.2 volt NPF batteries. I was disappointed. I didn't want to reinvest in 7.2 volt batteries ONLY for this flashlight. 7.4V NPF batteries are the more popular and economical voltage standard. Very quickly they sent me a 7.4v adapter (and generously gave away a bunch of NPF batteries for free - wow!). Good news: the 7.4 volt adapter worked! Now I can use my 7.4v NPF batteries. Brilliant. I could tell they wanted to solve the problem quickly, so it was easy to work with them. I realized that English wasn't their first language but they tried their best and did a great job. Thank you again Lisa! CONS: - Brightness range. The brightness of my FotodioX lights can be adjusted from 10% to 100%. Can't go below 10% (if you do, it just turns off). The Falcon Eyes SO-68TD Soft LED Flashlight is no different. Yes it says it goes from "1% to 100%" but I've placed the FotodioX and Falcon Eyes lights side by side and set them to minimum brightness. Falcon Eyes at 1% brightness are *exactly the same* as FotodioX at 10% brightness. Yes, the Falcon Eye's display says 1% brightness, but it's actually as bright as a similar light source at 10% brightness. I think it's misleading and I don't like it, but it's negligible compared to the huge advantages this light has over the smaller, less soft and less accurate 18-inch FotodioX flashlight. Bottom line: if you have a 7.4v NPF battery (seriously - check them) then ask them to ship you a 7.4v adapter (if they didn't already include it huh hopefully they do!). Buy it. You will like it. Trust me now, thank me later.
