I had problems with hair loss but it turned out to be user error! Don't use too hot water and just soak the tips for about 30 seconds before shaving. They do this to soften the bristles before lathering. As long as you do this and don't apply the mousse too roughly, you won't lose a single hair. The brush is soft and lathers up great! Best buy of any badger brush on Revain. The customer service of this company is also superior to the others.
