I've had refills for a little over a year with no problems. Note, however, that if you're a bit compulsive like me, have plenty of glass cleaning wipes on hand. I use one every time I use my desk. Luckily, I'm the type of person who has a home office but doesn't really need one, so I only use it every two weeks or so as I'd rather have my laptop or iPad on the couch in front of a big screen. I assembled the table myself. It was pretty easy with the instructions given. I would recommend planning at least an hour or two.
