After playing around with the mic settings I was able to tweak it and it sounds crystal clear. I sent my audio clip to some honest friends and they all agreed it sounded fantastic. You were amazed at the price for the fit and finish of this item. It looks like a very expensive brand. This works with an Android phone that has a Type-C charging port and I happened to have an old one in the draw and gave it a try. It worked and I recorded my audio with it. This does not work on newer iPhones that have switched to Type-C charging cables. Since I have 12 pro max I decided to give it a try but it didn't work. The base has a rubber pad to keep the mic in place and it's weighted so it can't be easily knocked over. It can't be rotated or oriented like my Jlabs Talk Go mic does, which you can point at yourself, but you can buy a holder that allows you to do this. For simplicity, there is no mute button or indicator to show the mic is on/active. These options would be very helpful. So for 39.99 (49.99) it's worth it but you can always wait and maybe get a well known brand like jlabs for around that $49.99 price.
