Review on YSUCAU Powered Security Flashing Warning by Lance Harrison

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Needs a few adjustments but fairly reliable product

I use quite a few of these "fake" cameras to deter amateur bullies. We live in rural Hawaii where everyone has a 2 to 5 acre lot with varying amounts of foliage. We use the mailboxes, driveways and parking lots mentioned above. We have to because it is a problem for them to come to power. So, a fake solar powered camera makes at least some people think they are spying on Wi-Fi. This camera is well made, easy to install and appears to be quite weather resistant. There are two things I would change. The dome is terribly dark so you need good lighting and need to be directly above before you can see the fake camera lens behind the glass. If the dome were a little cleaner to make the lens more visible that would help. The flashing light, probably the most important deterrent, should also be brighter. It is clearly visible at night, but only if you are directly in line with it. Five feet either way and the light is barely visible. The light flickers during the day, but you have to be directly overhead to see it. Still, this is a good deal at this price point and I'm happy with it.

Pros
  • ☛ Blinking LED: Blinking red LED, powered by solar panels or two AA batteries, saves more power and ensures normal operation on a cloudy or rainy day. Let everyone believe that your house is under surveillance 24/7.
Cons
  • Out of fashion
