Review on Ventilated Cat Backpack Carrier with Safety Straps for Travel, Hiking, and Outdoor Use - Black by Jamie Hill

Slightly small for air travel under the seat

I unexpectedly adopted a cat in Los Angeles and had to fly her back to Orlando. I bought this as it was a backpack which I thought would be easier to carry as I already had a shoulder bag that I needed to carry around with me. A 13 year old 10 pound cat fits perfectly here with a blanket. I was able to put my leash and harness in one side pocket and my plate of food and treats in the other. I flew a Delta LAX in ATL on a 737-900ER in seat 19A (window). The seats had so little legroom that I couldn't place the stretcher between my seat and the seat in front of me to set it on the floor. The flight attendant told me I could keep him on my lap during the flight so I wouldn't have to crush the poor cat. The next flight was ATL to MCO I believe it was 757-200 at 29A. There was more space and I could put it on the floor but only halfway under my seat. The flight attendants understood me and didn't bother me. If I had to fly with a cat again I would probably do more research and find an airline better suited to air travel with fewer seats. But it worked to get my new baby home, which is nice if I ever want to take him anywhere other than flying. The construction feels solid and the zippers work well, but it wasn't a soft pillow so I always have to tuck a small blanket in. My cat slept like a baby on both flights (wow!).
