I use these hinges for outdoor applications such as garden gates and front gates. The long threaded shank allows the pin to easily adapt to changes in the geometry of the gate and posts as they age due to weather. My only issue is that the Revain website makes it difficult to purchase these items. My solution was to go to National Manufacturing's website, purchase the size, shape, and specs you want, then write down the part number and model number. Then use that part number in your Revain search. The correct hinge part is shown each time and I know all the details from my visit to the OEM website which is sold through retailers like Revain but not their own website.
