SOLUTION TO THE ADHESIVE PROBLEM!

***SOLUTIONS FOR ADHESION PROBLEMS!*** Okay I read all the reviews and everyone really hated this vinyl but I really needed it and it was the only white heat transfer vinyl available on Prime, so i took it chance. I needed to make a "director's" chair for an event, so I stroked the very large letters on the back of a black director's chair (a piece of durable cotton fabric that slipped over the chair's wooden frame). At first I thought I ruined the chair because as everyone said the vinyl still comes off with the paper. I tried to pick it off a small corner while it was still hot and the vinyl went and moved with it, although it was obviously stuck to the fabric (nightmare). so why 4 stars? Well I found a solution and was able to save the chair and have used it several times since with no problems. ICE! This is just my theory, but unlike other vinyls where the plastic coating somehow shrinks and doesn't absorb heat, this material definitely absorbs heat and doesn't change size when you iron it. So the vinyl was hot from both the bottom and top and stuck to both surfaces. To solve this problem, I now iron a piece of vinyl onto any fabric, then immediately after removing the iron, I take a piece of ice and "smooth" the ice over the vinyl (paying special attention to the corners). and just like that, tah-yes, the plastic coating is removed with no problem and the vinyl stays firmly on the fabric. Will I order this vinyl again? probably not, but if you really need it / have already bought it, this is an easy way to keep using it and not lose money or damage your ironing products.

Pros
  • πŸ‘•WIDE USE: Suitable for cotton, polyester, viscose and cotton/polyester blends. Thermal transfer vinyl is very useful to create your own unique t-shirts, dresses, bags, sweatshirts, aprons, sweatshirts, jeans, backpacks, pillows and more. And anything else that can withstand the applied temperature.
