Review on Dell IN2030M 20 Inch Discontinued Manufacturer 60Hz HD Monitor: Premium Visual Experience at an Unbeatable Price by Brian Simmons

Much trouble: my rating

I must have gotten the lemon because I've only had problems with this one. First, it took me several days to play around with the screen settings to get a decent picture. The problem was that lines were visible on the screen, creating a fuzzy look. After trying almost every possible combination of display settings, I finally got an acceptable (not very good) picture. But it shouldn't be that difficult - I've never had problems like this with a monitor. Then, about a day later, a horizontal bar appeared at the bottom of the screen. Over the next week or so, the line would sometimes disappear (which gave me hope) but then reappear, sometimes with a few lines and a nervous glance at the bottom half inch of the screen. That's enough for me. I decided to send it back to Dell. Not as easy as it should have been. I've filled out the online returns form twice and haven't received a response (it took over a week the first time). So I bit the bullet and called her. It took me over an hour on the phone as I was routed through three different agents and I had to explain the problem in detail to each of them while trying to decipher their remarks in their heavily accented English. I think that's the fine you have to pay when trying to return something to Dell. To be fair, they agreed to a refund (and offered me a $10 discount on a replacement, which I politely declined) and paid for the return shipping. I immediately ordered a ViewSonic VA2212M-LED 22" LED monitor from Revain, which turned out great. Produced an excellent image straight away (I just had to slow down to adjust the brightness). I appreciated it even more after I had wrestled with Dell. .
