If you look at the pictures you can see this compression glove is holding my dislocated thumb in place. Like many reviewers here, I tried many devices to hold the joint in place hoping the muscles around it would heal and hold it more firmly in its natural position. The injury happened 3 years ago, fused in a dislocated position. So far, after over a year of trying, something handy keeps everything in place quite comfortably. I ordered S Small and my thumb needs a "breather" from time to time, so I just pull up part of my thumb to loosen it up around the base of the thumb.
