First, when unpacking the ramp and unhooking the locking mechanism that keeps the ramp folded, the locking mechanism broke. It may have been our fault but it was a negative experience because we haven't even used it yet. We found that, as other reviews have said, the material on the ramp looked like a really large piece of sandpaper taped to the surface. Following the advice of another reviewer, I put beach towels on top to soften it. Unfortunately I didn't have time to teach him how to use it as I bought it after my dog had surgery when I really wanted to minimize his jumping in and out of the car. So it's understandable that he didn't want to walk on it post-op and we had to lift his 110-pound frame into an SUV under the influence of sedation. I think if you cover the surface use a good elastic to keep it folded in case the mechanism breaks off and take your time with treats etc to teach the dog to be comfortable on the ramp, everything can be ok. I can't tell how durable it is for 100+ dogs.
