Truck Cover: Camping & Hiking

So I got the idea of using this as a bedside cover for my truck and I was happy to try my hand at flatbed camping without buying one of these to have to . special truck tents that cost a few hundred dollars. The dimensions are perfect for a truck bed (6ft Tacoma) but I forgot to bring poles so I just used it as a shed and then set it up overnight to keep it outside. rain and wind. There are 3 sockets on each side, one in each corner and one in the middle. The underside of it looks like an emergency blanket and I'm wondering if it also helps radiate heat. The tarpaulin/carry bag itself weighs approx. 740 g, including pegs only approx. 800 g (1.75 lbs). So when it comes to hiking plans, it's probably not the right choice. When camping it works great as a parasol and is waterproof so you can put a canopy over your campsite to stay dry. I think a tote bag is good, especially if you need to store it if it gets wet and you don't want the rest of your gear to get wet. The stakes supplied are of a fairly standard type with hooks and go through the sockets.

Pros
  • PORTABLE & COMPACT
Cons
  • Hard to say
