Had no idea how to corral a little boy. She is in everything. With a little TLC, it was bee knees! There are some downsides to this item.1. Yes, it's made of PVC pipes, and I definitely recommend putting as little pressure as possible on the "rails" when getting on and off. I try to keep my hands on the "supporting" sections ("T" center sections or corners) when exiting the arena. (Oh, we're sitting with a baby, by the way.) 2. The vertical support tubes have no protective pad. My daughter hit her head a couple of times when she slid sideways or just lay down (not realizing there could be repercussions). I'd really like to see the tube sections covered in gasket rather than just a thin layer of material that makes up the handle itself. I had to place stuffed animals, blankets, and pillows in front of all sections of pipe fitting. Placing folded receiving blankets around the edges and soft toys/pillows along the support beams has greatly alleviated this problem. Where all the top T-connection points converge is a flap that closes with Velcro. My little one holds these sections all the time and now it has become a game for her to pull on them and then maybe burn a little velcro if she rubs/falls or hangs on them. She. She wasn't injured, but maybe someone has/will have a baby. I keep turning the flaps to their "closed" position. I'm scared of trying to sew them because I'm not sure what the material is or if it will tear if I start poking it with a sewing needle and pulling it tight. Fault in the product itself. It was a guess on my part. This is actually a plus for this item as it is larger than most others I have researched, in fact large enough for my husband (6ft 4in) to lie diagonally in the playpen. I'm sure he probably wouldn't even fit in the smaller ones. So I didn't realize it was XL (I thought it was just an advertising name) because in a number of other reviews people said they bought 1.5" memory foam to cover the bottom put it on and it fit perfectly. I have a. It's short too. It's okay though; (we use sofa back cushions for sagging) Also, I would say the 1.5" memory foam is definitely not thick enough. I had to put the foam padding that I had previously purchased under the whole item (it sticks out at the edges and a lazy cat comes and rips it open.) It still felt a bit thin when walking around the bed because of it squish around the corners, lift the memory foam and don't cover it, use a pillow, put it on top, then put a big duvet over it Therefore you can change the blanket and save the playpen floor. Use a blanket that is not "loose" from the batting. It should be one that won't come off the cotton and won't get caught on your child's legs. (We also attached the backpack and play basket to the sides for easy storage.) This item was our saving grace for your baby's safety! d would definitely recommend and would buy again if needed. (We don't use zipper holes, so I can't talk about that part.)
