I hike all winter, and these are the gloves I choose. I just taught a winter hiking workshop for Solo Female Hikers and Adventurers, coordinated via Facebook, and these are what I wore for that, too, with temperatures below 5°F all day and wind chill well below 0°F.These gloves fit loosely enough to slip a handwarmer inside, which is nice when it's below about 10°F, and needed below 0 °F. I've worn them below -10°F with a handwarmer to trade off from side to side inside. (I carry at least two of those, and a charger, but only need one at a time.) But, I would not wear them without any supplement below about 10°F for more than a short time - take the dog out and go back in, yes. Stay out for even a single hour, no.With an electric handwarmer, though, I'm good all day. They're comfortable. They're easy to pull on and off. They're effectively water resistant - obviously critically important for winter gloves. (If you need truly waterproof gloves affordably, add extra large dishwashing gloves over whatever you have.)The touch screen function, if it works at all, is useless; the fingers are too fat for that. Just tether a stylus or take a glove off for a moment.I've rebought them a couple times now after losing one.
