I like this paper

I really like this paper, but it is difficult to process and annoying. I should mention for context that I'm new to origami and am trying out some intermediate models. I usually skip the easy ones as I find them too easy. This is a very strong paper, thin and easy to slip. The paper is not as soft as others I've tried. It is very clear and makes a rustling noise when you run your fingers over the finished model. These qualities can make it a folding dream, but they also work against me. If you make a crease it will sharpen nicely and hold. However, if you try to unfold that fold, you essentially have to fold again. Unlike other papers I've used, this paper doesn't loosen up enough when folded for the reverse fold to easily follow the original fold. So I wrestle with paper, and when you wrestle with that paper, it creases. With the simpler models I'm familiar with, like the traditional crane, I get amazing results. For models with lots of pleats and back pleats, especially complex ones that I'm not familiar with, I can't figure out some of the steps because the previous pleats don't guide you. If you don't know exactly what you're doing, this paper won't help and you'll end up with a crumpled mess. Of course, that means you don't have to crumple it up before throwing it in the bin, so I think that's an advantage! All this to say that I think this paper is of high quality and my impression of it may be due to the fact that I am new to origami. I suspect if I continue to study on paper I will find it easier to come back to this paper once I have more experience and like it. Through my watercolor painting I have learned that the choice of paper has a great impact on the art and is just as much an artistic choice as what paints and brushes you use and what techniques you use. Just like I study origami and try different papers. Depending on your needs, you may or may not like this paper. If you are unsure I would purchase a smaller pack before jumping in some sheets so you know if it suits your specific preferences.

Exactly 500 sheets, great value; some inconsistency in quality
