I needed minimal protection to carry my iPad in my purse without scratching the front and back. This is a good, inexpensive case for doing just that. This case doesn't automatically wake up my iPad, which I also consider a plus as my old case used to be running around in my purse a lot and killing my battery with all the auto on and off. Works as a stand when watching movies in landscape mode, but isn't very sturdy so you'll need a firm surface with minimal movement.
