I bought this item as an 'extra' item because I mistook that all travel mugs of this type are the same. But unfortunately this is not the case. .I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the exterior design as do MANY MANY people who have commented on how beautiful it is. That's one of the reasons I decided to do it. And I'm really happy with the lid and straw which are very different from my previous insulated travel mug. This allows you to have a straw in the middle, making it easier to spill from the rim if the cup tips over. You can also lift the handy feature on the lid so you can drink from a mug, as well as seal the straw portion of the lid to again prevent spills. My criticism comes from this mug's inability to keep drinks cold for very long. that I live in Arizona where temperatures can reach 120 degrees in the summer which is a real testing ground for any travel mug, but even indoors this mug doesn't seem to have enough staying power to keep drinks COLD than my other reusable travel mug. And while it does a VERY GOOD WORK (2-3 HOURS) it doesn't really match 8 of some other brands. Conclusion: ABSOLUTELY FINE AND WORKS GREAT, just not for long periods or in very hot summer conditions.
