Review on Motorcycle Bar End Mirrors Motorcycles by Kevin Baker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

End mirror 7/8 bar - is it worth it? YES they are

The price is worth it! The packaging is all foam, very beautiful. All parts were included, coming from China is sometimes a problem, but not with this one! They installed easily on a Honda Grom with Pro Taper 7/8 secondaries. I'm a master mechanic just so you know this review was written with experienced mechanical skills in mind. The quality is excellent, the glass too! I am impressed! When you unbox the kit you will see TWO internal aluminum wedge shaped members at the end of the bar. The smaller end for the 7/8 is inside the larger diameter wedge. At first I thought they sent the wrong size as it doesn't say so in the instructions. I was able to push out the wedge-shaped part of the smaller inner diameter with my fingers without any problems. Another got stuck and I used a 1/4 8mm socket to push it out. Adjustable and mounted in multiple positions, most mirrors can be located above or below the grille. You have options! The wedges require a little torque on the hex head (5mm) to hold the wedges in place, but not much torque. This is an aluminum steel screw, so don't overdo it! This mirror set includes 3 different 90 degree hex wrenches. I chose to use my own tools for better torque feel during installation, which is exactly what I prefer. The included wrenches are more than enough to install and properly install each screw head (all allen heads). Another quality with attention to detail as they are mass produced. Do they stay tight after installation? In my experience about 100 miles, YES they do. There is enough torque on each bolt to hold them in place (don't over tighten) and allow you to hand adjust them on the fly and they stay there, where I placed them. Fit and finish are excellent. As I love things that are made in the USA I took a chance and for $47 with shipping I'm impressed! I am committed to excellence and have high standards. They won't let you down if you're like me. The mirror to bracket screws (ball part) were pre-installed and I didn't have to touch them as the tension on the ball is strong and stays tight. Another quality part of this mirror set that I like the most. To sum it up: it's great value for money, the glass doesn't scratch when you wipe it down (terry towel), the fit and finish is excellent, it stays where you put it, and although it has a kind of limited view Because of the size of the glass, I would buy it again or give it to a friend. If you're looking for a kit to match the color of your bike, the quality can impress as much as the finish. I'm surprised as Chinese items were usually of poor quality, but this review is full of positives and I would highly recommend this set again and again. End mirrors can be installed without cutting out the handles for mirror mounting. I bought the handles later and they had a closed end that I had to cut off to fit the mirrors. I am responsible for insufficient advance planning. Even after the mirrors were removed and reinstalled to install the handlebars, they stayed where I put them! Total install time was 20 minutes as I took my time using Loctite on the wedge bolts on the ends of the handlebars and fine tuning after installation. I have no complaints to share. I got a lot more than what I paid for, but again I had low expectations since, as mentioned above, it's a Chinese production. I would buy them again and that says a lot. Post a question if you need information that I haven't covered here. Bon voyage :) CSN.E. Ohio, 2015 Honda GromPro, SE KLX-DRZ 110 cone, 7/8 rods
