Very plump and soft. Just put it in the dryer for 5-10 minutes and it will come out like one big marshmallow. However, I am returning this item because the description says Pima cotton. It doesn't say "poly-cotton" which it actually is. It was misleading and therefore I didn't think it was fair. The problem with polyester is that even in a 40/60 blend, it doesn't breathe like 100% cotton. The whole purpose of a duvet is its breathability. If you need extra warmth, this is a good choice. Well I have an update. I ordered two other duvets to replace this one and one had a really heavy fabric cover. But I could still see brown feathers through it. When I asked the seller if they use duck down or duck feathers, I never got an answer. The second one I bought didn't have all the labels and certifications that this duvet has. So I wasn't sure what I was getting. All these certificates mean a lot to me. This blanket has all the certifications and was the best of the three. Even though it contains poly, it didn't seem to get too hot. I just hope it doesn't get too hot for me in the summer. I live in Colorado. Hope that helps.
