I have a very steep, slippery hill in my yard that was a real challenge to work on. I bought Vdealen crampons hoping they would help on both slippery surfaces and ice. OK, they do. Other than that, I'm very happy with them. They are easy to put on and take off, they did a great job of keeping me in place and they were very reasonably priced. Of course, living in Southern California I can't comment on their use on ice, but I can assure you they will help on muddy, slippery sloops during the rainy season and on slippery gravel the rest of the year.
