Review on Fiebings Yellow Saddle Soap Oz by Rachel Martinez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A frugal way to keep your skin looking great!

My dad used Fiebing's (and Kiwi too, but Fiebing's - if it's harder to find without potholders - cheaper!) and grew up during the Depression. He never left the pantry empty, and he was frugal, frugal, frugal! And basically, saddle soap is an inexpensive product that helps keep your stuff in good condition for longer. A win! For example, buy yourself a nice pair of leather boots. You've spent a lot of money on these babes, but they're built to last. So start them off with saddle soap and it will look like you've never kicked them out of the lot. Or maybe you inherited an old handmade western belt from your grandfather. It stinks, it's dry as a snake, and it's also curled up. Saddle soap helps! You can bring old, dirty and worn leather products back to life! Most recently I used Fiebing's to buy a pair of Dr. Marten that was a little tough, but worse, pretty dry. You look great now! I then used it on the heel of a pair of leather sandals that were giving me blisters. It softened the skin and also made a smooth surface that allowed my skin on my heels to slide instead of snagging and tearing. Now I can wear them more often and break them in properly! I finally pumped up a new pair of Ariats. Of course they were in good condition upon arrival. The leather was soft and oily, but there were a few minor abrasions that simply went away with detergent. And I almost didn't crush that huge can of product. This is a fantastic offer. All you have to do is apply some grease to your elbow - use a cloth, sponge or maybe a soft brush to buff the saddle soap on the surface of your leather goods - and you'll be glad you did to have. Take inspiration from the vintage cars to make things last. Thank you, Dad! :-) I hope this helps someone keep their stuff in good shape!
