Review on Tiffen 77mm Digital High-Transparency Multi-Coated UV Protector Lens Filter by Jerry Delic

I ordered a couple of these filters in a hurry after buying a new very expensive lens and to be honest I was just in a hurry to put something on them. I decided to replace all other 77mm filters at the same time. I'm a professional photographer and I take a lot of photos on the go. So when I saw that one of the filters had a HUGE scratch, I was relieved that this filter was protecting my glass! so far, that is, even after a month of minimal use, I haven't noticed that another lens with this filter had a scratch of about the same depth. I work with lenses a lot, but not THAT MUCH. The more expensive lens filter I've used for years didn't even come close to matching the length or depth of these scratches. I can't say for sure that my bag didn't have something sharp and scratchy, but I definitely don't think these filters are as protective as the more expensive ones. Of course, if your lens has a very light life / studio life, this will protect it from dust and fingerprints, but I don't think it will protect it from a fall or a direct hit. I wouldn't buy it again unless I was literally in a camera shop to buy a new lens and it was the only protection filter available. Something is better than nothing, but in this case I would just save money and buy better.
