Review on πŸ’§ Max Water Filtration Purifier: Optimal Filtration for Pure Water by Noah Smith

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Requires a longer rinse time on the first pass.

I would like to point out that I am not new to reverse osmosis filtration. I have a lot of experience in this area. I only bought this device because my 15 year old drinker's body was starting to age. Overall, the case and packaging make a high-quality impression. The equipment is good, everything is tight. The problem I had with this system was that the reverse osmosis membrane took a long time to flush. Reverse osmosis membranes (which actually produce pure water and are the heart of the system) come vacuum packed from the manufacturer with an antimicrobial agent that extends the life of the filter. A typical membrane takes about 3 gallons to flush. Without proper rinsing, the water smells and tastes of sulfur. The unit that came with this system took 24 hours (50 gallons) to get rid of the odor. I contacted the seller regarding this, who replied that he could not emit this smell and that it must be my spring water. I responded with a water quality report as well as a technical explanation of why this is happening, to which I received no reply or resolution. Unless you are aware of this and have set the system to run through an aroma filter, you most likely will not notice the dirty water. However, this is not harmful, although you should flush your first aquarium with water to remove as many chemicals as possible. I ended up replacing the membrane with a Filmtec 50GPD unit which produced better water quality. In the end I still think the cost of the device and the quality of the cases is a good buy just tire the membrane flushing time.

  • Robust construction
Cons
  • Non-Automatic
