Comfortable lightweight shorts over a swimsuit. If you are looking for "swim shorts", you need to know that these shorts have no inner lining. If they had any I would wear them like real swim shorts. Anyway, I like to wear my shorts over the suit so they're fine. The construction is fine and the color (navy blue) is light and contrasts nicely with black. Because the material is lightweight, the legs feel a little baggy, but they actually have the same inseam and inseam measurements as my chino shorts, which looks more flattering, so I think the weight of the material makes them hang differently. They fit snugly on the waist so I don't think going down a size (I ordered 10) would work. All in all, I expect you'll get a lot of use out of them.
