Somewhat simple installation, but not "universal" as it says in the post. I don't have holes in or near the engine compartment to install a contact switch. I can't drill as I won't be able to tighten the bottom nut, attach a wire, or adjust the height of the derailleur (tube frame, fender on the rail, etc.). A $2 metal corner bracket from the hardware store will do, with a few sheet metal screws and you're good to go. This mount must be included for a truly "universal" fit. It loses a star as additional fixtures need to be purchased for installation. I'm also a bit worried about how long the tape will hold the light strip on my hood, but we'll see.
