Review on Enhance GM Stepper Motor Performance with the Dr.Speedometer X27.168 Repair Kit for 2003-2006 Chevrolet, GMC, and GM Vehicles by Davon Clark

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The speedometer and headlights worked well, but there was a new oil pressure stepper motor.

The speedo stepper motor didn't work and several dashboards didn't light up on my son's 2003 Tahoe. Bought this kit, drove 500 miles to my house and installed all 6 new stepper motors and 4 new dashboards. I connected the dashboard and calibrated the arrows. Assembled the dashboard and started the car. The speedo and headlights worked fine, but the new oil pressure block stepper motor went up to 80psi and stalled. I disassembled the dashboard again and recalibrated the oil pressure gauge. Reassembled the dashboard and drove again, this time the oil pressure gauge didn't work at all. For the third time I had to remove the entire sensor block and reinstall one of the good old stepper motors. The speedometer and dash work fine now, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to change all the stepper motors just because you don't have a cluster. change the bad, leave the rest alone until they go. I spent over 6 hours on this work and it wasn't as easy to install and remove the dashboard as shown on YouTube. george b
