The hard drive was not connected to the new TV. Problem solved

If your hard drive won't connect to your Smart TV like we did, try this trick. Buy one of these, a USB 2 extension cable, and plug a USB 3 hard drive cable into it, then plug it into your TV. Works great. I've tried everything, reformatted the hard drive, in multiple formats, spent hours searching the internet for a solution, then I came across this idea. I had a very long USB 2 cable and tried it, it worked, so I bought a much shorter cable as we didn't need tons of extra cables behind the TV. Some TVs don't like USB 3 for some reason. What do you lose for the price?
