The packaging was a bit rough. There is too much space for things that may move during transportation. Thicker combs should be used. For some reason the nuts on the winch are different sizes. There are 3 nuts x 14mm and 1 nut x 13mm. The remote control uses two A23 batteries and both are positive side up. The remote controls are quite light and partially sealed. This is not the most reliable design. The control unit can be located in several different locations. If you want it central, then it attaches to the bracket with just two small mounting screws. 4 screws are required for the offset on the passenger side. There are only 2 screws to attach the bracket to the winch itself. Moving the control box is easy. I attached it just below the winch plate. It is protected by a protective plate and the box is sealed. You may want to connect the control box before attaching the winch as the bolt on the bottom may be blocked by the winch plate. The boots are very tight and sturdy enough to slip on. In order for the wireless remote control to work, the winch must have a low constant power. Compared to the plastic cord, the weight difference in the steel cable is enormous. This probably adds 35 pounds of weight to the front bumper. And here the Roller Clewse is also much heavier than the Clewse. I have to say that the only real saving grace with this item is the cost. It's incredibly cheap. The HF Apex Badland also costs more. You can get close to that price with a mega coupon, but this one is off. And for 7 years I had a Superwinch tiger shark, in total I used it 5 times. So eat for though. And don't drive the jeep alone. At least one other person must have a winch in the group. Two is one, one is not.
