They are similar in design to Neutrik NC3 connectors and use a clip-on latch. Surprisingly, given their lower price, they are actually of the same quality and I have no hesitation in using them in professional setups. However, when soldering these connectors it is very important to use good technique and NOT to overheat the pins! The plastic used in plug inserts is not as temperature resistant as in more expensive plugs. Too much heat will melt the plastic and cause the pin to shift, sometimes resulting in the connector not fitting. For the same reason, I don't recommend reusing these connectors; Once soldered they're pretty much done unless you're really, really careful and don't know what you're doing with the soldering iron.
