Well made for long hair, short hair, thick hair, 30" long and thick braids, etc. I've had this hat for a few months now. Holds up very well. I have big curly locks and I love doing long braids so I was concerned. Now I am free from fear! This hat can stretch! It's very soft and slippery. If you put it on the wrong way or if you are sleeping awake, this hat will not stay on your head. I also have silk pillows so I'm not worried. The elasticity at the edges stretches quite a bit. Make sure you place it right on the edges, ladies. Even if it's satin, it can press on the edges too much, so make sure it's flat on your forehead and extends past the edges. The hat is made of smooth, thin fabric. Be wary of greasy hair or excessive use of hair products when wearing a cap. It oozes out and you need to wash it frequently. I only hand wash the hat and let it air dry. When I get home from work it dries up.
