Review on Aqu by John Mceachern

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Unpacked good but expired quickly

Wanted to get some use out of it before writing a review. Pros - Easy to install - Good range of settings - Good water pressure (see ) - No leaks Cons - Poor interior design - Poor water pressure (due to cheap internal parts) Not sure how long we've had this shower head combo. Apparently less than a year old. It was great out of the box. Dense water pressure. Good settings. Especially the waterfall is quite steep. The problem is that the inside is cheap and starts to degrade very quickly. It took me a while before I noticed the drop in water pressure. But it wasn't long before he became quite anemic. Pleasant pressure (out of the box) turned into a blunt topping in a short time. I recently decided to take it apart. Decided to tinker with it a bit before throwing it away and buying another brand. Upon inspection, the flow restrictor was significantly deformed (see figure). I don't know what kind of rubber it is, but it's definitely cheap and poorly constructed. So the good news is I can fix it. But he shouldn't have failed so quickly. If it weren't for the poor internals I would have given this showerhead a good review. But I don't recommend it. Because I'm not sure if other internal devices will also fail. ***** UPDATED ***** I still stand by all of the above. And after removing the rubber flow valve internals, the pressure was too high. Decided to save the thing and buy a flow control valve (2nd pic); AISN number B07RLWY6QR. Worth every penny. Flow can now be adjusted from 100% open to 100% closed. And everywhere in between. I will add the same valve to each shower head. What an excellent addition. So if you have that particular shower head and the flow rate is getting worse, pull out the internal flow valve and pay $10 for an upgraded one.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • good but not great
