Bought as hand luggage on flights. The bag was larger than expected (I looked like a kid who goes to school with a huge backpack) but had no problems carrying it and it easily fit in the luggage compartment of the different flights I took. The front pockets are bigger than they look which is great. As mentioned by some of the other reviewers of this bag, it would have been nice if the main compartment opened up like a standard suitcase, but it wasn't a deal breaker and I was still able to access my stuff with no issues. I only wore the bag as a backpack, so I can't judge how comfortable it is with the shoulder strap or carrying handle. In general, the bag was comfortable to wear as a backpack. Highly recommended!
