IR Flicker.: Surveillance Cameras

I ordered two white cameras. I have a black one that I bought a year ago and it works great. Apparently they've replaced the IR light in it, so you'll need a strong cable to power the camera. During the day they work fine, but at night the IR flickers. Buying a new dedicated power supply with a 1A connection to the camera did not solve the problem. I also tried another cable with the same problem. If you look at the difference between the models. You will see different IR settings between models. I assume those with the straight edge ring will have IR issues as my other camera works fine and the IR setting is different. I am changing my rating! I see Amcrest replied it was nice but never called him. Another user in this review got me thinking. He mentioned that he needed to plug in a dedicated power supply, his power cord was plugged in 6ft away. My 100ft of pre-made cables were unnecessary and of course the IR turned on on a shorter length. I bought a 25ft cable (pre-assembled) which seemed to me to be of a higher quality and also worked. None of the pre-made cables I've seen are AWG gauge. I guessed the AWG gauge (24 AWG, 1 AMP @ 12V) and calculated it using a calculator. The difference between running 100 feet (43% voltage drop) and running 25 feet (10% voltage drop) was greater than I could have imagined. These new cameras can't handle it, but I can't fault them for the IR upgrade, so I'm just shooting a star. I would be very hesitant if you used long runs without a well rated AWG wire for a power run.
