Bought two of these stools for storage. ottoman wat. They're strong enough for heavy feet/legs and you can't beat the convenience of having a "TV tray" just steps away. The flip can actually be done with one hand once you get the hang of it! I've looked at MANY different ottomans (I go with ottomans) and reviews. I was afraid of getting something too thin for normal use. I can say that as a 230 lb male I would be comfortable getting up (albeit gently) to retrieve something from a high shelf. However, the frame of the box is not a fixed part. You can hit or bump some vinyl and it will wobble and flap since it's not resting on a single support column. Apparently it's still strong enough for me; and since we use it in our RV I won't complain about the weight savings. The inside is lined with this thin weed material, similar to the garden cloth weed barrier you put in your tomato row. It will likely be able to handle a few scuffs and scratches from shoes or whatever else we choose to keep inside.
