It works great. It's easy to select one of twelve sounds. We will use one to fall asleep, but you can choose another one to wake you up. the function you are looking for. I don't like the little wheel used to set the time and alarm, but it works as intended. Overall, the controls are easy to use. I love that it has a dimmer if you want to increase or decrease the brightness of the numbers. I also like how the plug is on the bottom and stays tucked away in its little spot. It's easy to access the battery compartment when you need it for travel or whatever. It uses 3 AAA batteries. I'd rather close it.
