I bought 2 of these for my homemade Photography softbox. I was kinda skeptical that they would actually be brighter. You know how these china based companies can stretch the truth. But they were quite a bit brighter than the brand new 50 Watt flood light. My box has a 60 watt, a 50 watt, and another 60 watt, all inside one fluorescent light fixture (the metal type you see mounted in business ceilings). I had to cut squares in the metal and mounted these on the outside shining inside. I made reflection on inside of box, and used a standard fluorescent light diffuser sheet. Needed a way to soften my pictures for product photography. I knocked off one star because the pictures made the light look like it had a hole on each corner of the light for mounting, but that "hole" is a silver screw. I should have looked a bit harder, I can now see how I was incorrect on that. So I made L brackets work. Still a successful install, and my softbox works great. Though its still not bright enough. Next Ill try a flash diffuser. I cannot comment to their use as an actual back yard floodlight. I have the 50 watt Chinese competitor's lights in my greenhouse, and they work great. These are brighter (and a much warmer light; less blue) so i suspect they would be great for their intended use. The real question is will they last? I bought about 100 of the 30 and 50 watt china floodlights. I was making decent profit reselling them locally, but so many came back because they stopped working in a couple months. So much so I had to stop selling them. I hate that, they were a real easy money sale. I had buyers waiting in line. Will these die out like the rest? Time will tell.
