Review on Digitizer Repair Screen Replacement Adhesive by Gregory Castellanos

Digitizer has dead zones

The new digitizer has dead spots on the screen where the "touch" function just doesn't work. This happens when the keyboard appears on the tablet, making typing extremely frustrating. There are also a few spots on the screen where I now have to tap about 1/4 inch below an icon or button to click/select it. After replacing the digitizer, my Ipad also had an issue where the screen would just turn off. coincidentally. I was much better off with a cracked OEM screen and clear packaging tape over it. Removing the original screen was PITA. Not as easy as it looks in the online video. The original glue is quite strong. Even with the heat gun, it was a real bear crawling under glass! I'm sure there's a technique for that, but I'm pretty skilled and I've had a very hard time with it. It took more than an hour to remove all the glue residue. OEM glue is just a nasty thing (so yes, it's a good thing). The only good thing I can say about this kit is the packaging. The small tool kit was quite extensive, although screwdrivers and most other small tools are very cheap and single use. d is probably the only one I will leave. The napkins that came with it are useless. Luckily I have some Zeiss lens cloths that left the screen pristine. As I mentioned, I was better off with the old cracked screen, so it was a huge waste of $28 and a few hours.
