Already washed once, the softness hasn't changed which is huge. I was a little worried it would make a big difference. I used a gentle cycle with warm to cold water. no material has fallen off since I received it and it seems really well made. I've owned it for half a year now and have been using it about a couple of times a week for 4-6 months, I'm pleasantly surprised and will order it again. There were no problems. It stays very warm. If you're really short or small, maybe this would be too much stuff for you. I'm a bit overweight, that's almost too much stuff for me. I have to be in a certain mood to wear this as it's not something you want to do specific tasks in or move around too much because you're going to be very hot. With a lot of additional material, it can also get dirty easily, but it's worth it for a cuddly warm part! The wrist area does not allow air to rise to the hands and makes it easier to move the hands without knocking over objects or getting into things, like a typical cozy place.
