While I find the face on the ceramic mug a bit creepy, I love that the brush handles match the mug! This is a very cute idea, although I think it would be a bit better if the gold on the mug was rose gold to match the rose gold on the brush handles and on the sponge holder. My only real gripe with this set is that the pens feel cheap; Yes, I know they are plastic and I expected them to be, but they feel like cheap flimsy plastic. The brush bristles themselves are nice to the touch, and the ceramic mug, sponges, and sponge holder are a great bonus. One of my brushes had about half the bristles it should have (compared to other brushes) and it's a lot heavier than all brushes and the bristles just don't feel the same, but losing just one brush sucks . for me it is not very important. I don't do much makeup and prefer to use my brushes to clean my nails instead, so I haven't used any of these makeup brushes before, but I can tell you that so far they've held up to acetone (with the exception of one brush ). which was all weird anyway). Overall I love this set but it's not my absolute favorite due to the cheap feel of the handles but due to the matching tile coaster I think it would be perfect for gifting!
