This pillow was a big surprise. I had an old memory foam pillow that a dog chewed on. I got this because it was highly rated, but lying on it for a few seconds was incredibly painful. In fact I just got an injection, lay on it for 5 minutes and my neck, shoulder and ear are in real pain. This pillow is as hard as a brick. After it fluffed up and realizing I could never sleep on it, I took it to my roommates and playfully slapped it to show them how heavy it was. Each of us thought so too. We were all amazed at how terribly uncomfortable and hard it was. Now the support is good but lying on my side my ear hurt terribly as it slowly sank into the pillow. I thought maybe I'd feel good diving in, but the process was painful and my ear was throbbing by the time I finished diving. It really is like sleeping on a concrete step. I never thought a "pillow" could be so awful. Maybe it's useful for some people. It's rated highly by others, but it's terrible. I will be much more skeptical about highly rated products in the future.
