Save yourself the headache, buy the whole decanter set at once!

About three years ago I got my first carafe for my birthday. He was handsome and elegant, like this carafe. However, I quickly realized that cleaning the carafe with ordinary sponges is almost impossible and mold quickly develops if the carafe is not dried properly. That's why I recommend you save yourself the headache (and possibly some time and money) by purchasing the entire decanter set at once. Shortly after receiving my old carafe, I bought the sponge separately, costing me an extra $10 at the time. I never bought a coaster because the old carafe unfortunately broke. So I was delighted to work with Mixologist to test and review this set. I regularly sample, gift and speak about wine for my website and I'm long overdue for a new carafe. When I saw that it was a whole set, I was really happy to receive the product because I knew the problems I had in the past. What I liked and what I recommend you to buy this set: 1. The sponge in this package not only cleans the carafe, but also cleans long flutes or narrow-necked glasses more effectively. I love it when I can use a product for multiple reasons! 2. The drying rack is key to avoiding mold problems that I've encountered. Just be vigilant and make sure all water is properly cleaned before storing the carafe again.3. I love how this entire kit packs neatly into a box that is clearly labeled with pictures. It doesn't bother me (in my house) that it's a carafe. When I bought these items individually, nothing stayed together, so I inevitably found myself looking for a sponge when I needed to clean the carafe. If I bought the rack separately it would probably end up in the back of the closets and never be seen again. The carafe's wooden "egg" or cork was a little difficult to remove from the carafe, but I would use it outside or when the doors are open indoors and the wine is standing. Bugs love wine, and nothing is more unattractive than a gnat in a carafe. The two booklets in the box are full of advice on wine and using the set. I love that the Why a Wine Carafe book is laminated. It will last longer, especially if there is an easy spill in the kitchen or dining area where this product is likely to be used. Use the decanter even for bottles under $15. Why? It is well presented to the guest and helps to open an aerated red wine bottle. Also because I regret not having used mine more often before; It was so painful to clean and store. This set really solves all of those problems, so please use it often or give it as a gift. Hooray!
